On this day, December 6, 1989, at the University of Montreal's school of engineering, fourteen womyn were murdered in cold blood by a lone gunman. There were all shot down because they were womyn, because as the killer said, "You're all fucking feminists. I'm against feminism. That's why I'm here."

The number one health risk to womyn ages 15-44 is violence.

Womyn are the number one demographic to commit and die from suicide.

Womyn's murders are most likely to go unpunished.

This is the state we are in today.
Our girls are starving themselves, killing themselves. Womyn have a curfew of night, and even in the "safety" of their own homes they are brutalized and raped.

Womyn are the target of violence more than any other group. This is the state of WAR. We are IN A WAR for our own lives! The war is being waged on us. And "our" government/police/judicial system will not and does not protect us!

Why a Womyn's Army?
